ShearSpire Media creates new content and enhances existing content with interactivity. We create entirely new media or tailor content to integrate with your existing content management system.
Clients include Comcast, Macmillan/McGraw-Hill and technology-driven educational institutions such as the Berklee College of Music. We specialize in Flash development using ActionScript 3.0 and we deliver for the Web and for the desktop using Adobe AIR. Steven
Estrella brings an uncommon and valuable combination of experiences
to interactive media development. He has an extensive background
in the performing arts which informs his work in timeline based interactive
media. He has more than twenty-years of
experience in project management, software design, programming, and
technology-enhanced teaching. His Ph.D. is in music education with
an emphasis on experimental design and analysis in the social sciences,
learning theories, computer programming, and technology-based instruction.
Before joining ShearSpire, Inc in 2001, Dr. Estrella served as Director of Computer/Media Services for ten years at Temple University's Boyer College in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Estrella currently programs in ActionScript 3.0 and develops in Flash CS5, AIR 2.5, and Flash Builder 4. He also has a wealth of expertise in database design, FileMaker Pro, MySQL/PHP, JavaScript, HTML, XML, and CSS as well as audio, video, and graphic editing. He is the author of several books including two textbooks on JavaScript and Dynamic HTML.
